JOB SUMMARY
This job is responsible to build and maintain automated pipelines, troubleshoot, and analyze complex issues with the DevOps toolchain, and improve the continuous integration and deploy (CICD) pipelines. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in software engineering, build and deploy automation, and be familiar with the tools utilized in the DevOps workflow. This role will work with developers, engineers, and architects to ensure that software development follows established processes and works as intended. The incumbent will also be assigned to projects as the technical lead for internal departmental strategic projects, assist outside teams with technical proof of concepts (TPOC) work and help direct, mentor, and develop junior team members.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Lead implementation of DevOps Pipelines for new and emerging technologies (e.g., VM orchestration, Kubernetes, Docker Images, Containers, GitOps
+ DevOps Pipeline Maintenance
+ Play a key role in architecting and deploying continuous integration pipeline
+ Point-of-contact with cloud vendor and infrastructure, engineering team for security and service availability
+ Troubleshoot complex production issues, including outages, performance and function issues
+ Build and support CI/CD pipelines for both on-prem data center and cloud solutions
+ Consult with application owners to optimize builds, including high availability, automatic failover, memory and compute adjustments for optimized performance
+ Develop and maintain internal and external documentation intended for the Application Developer community
+ Mentor junior team members, help team develop important skillsets, and give feedback on junior team members’ work quality and productivity
+ Other duties as assigned or requested.
EDUCATION
Required
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or related field, or relevant education and/or experience as determined by the company in lieu of bachelor’s degree

EXPERIENCE
Required
+ 5 years in Software Engineering or Development
+ 5 years of experience with build tools such as Maven & Gradle
+ 3 years working with container-based technologies such as Docker, OpenShift, and Kubernetes
+ 3 years with CI/CD automation
+ 3 years with Agile Projects and DevSecOps Foundations
+ 3 years of experience automating security and vulnerability scanning
+ 3 years of Artifact Registry Tool Administration such as JFrog Artifactory
+ 3 years of Linux Operating System
Preferred
+ 5 years working in a cross-functional team with application developers to establish platform and operating model that meet business needs
+ 5 years working with Gitlab
+ 5 years Python/yaml/Shell Scripting
+ 5 years working on an Agile Scrum Team (Digital AI Agility preferred)
+ 5 years with Cloud technologies such as AWS/Azure/GCP
+ 5 years with Helm Deployments to Openshift

+ Highly skilled with CI/CD, Python, Shell Scripting, Container Development
+ Skilled in the following tools: YAML, Helm, Ansible, IaC – Terraform Enterprise OpenShift
+ Understands Cloud Concepts for GCP, AWS, Azure Cloud, as well as Cloud Service Provider (CSP) billing and cost structures

Pay Range Minimum:
$78,900.00
Pay Range Maximum:
$146,000.00
Base pay is determined by a variety of factors including a candidate’s qualifications, experience, and expected contributions, as well as internal peer equity, market, and business considerations. The displayed salary range does not reflect any geographic differential Highmark may apply for certain locations based upon comparative markets.
