Description
This program is 18 months in length. Graduates of the Associate of Applied Science Respiratory Care AAS program are prepared to enter the profession of Respiratory Care as a member of the critical care team functioning in clinics hospital Intensive Care Units (ICU) and Emergency Transport settings. The Respiratory Care program meets the requirements for approval by the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC). Respiratory Care as a profession is concerned with the assessment, diagnosis, and management of patients with cardiopulmonary diseases and abnormalities. The respiratory care practitioner can work in a variety of arenas including:
- Hospitals
- Physician clinics
- Home-care settings
- Medical sales
