Description

The registered nursing (LPN to RN) 66 or 67-credit hour program combines classroom instruction, simulated patient care, and clinical experience to prepare graduates for a successful career in nursing. Graduates of the program receive an Associate of Applied Science degree which prepares them to take the NCLEX-RN.  After graduation, students are eligible to apply for the national examination (NCLEX-RN) administered by the National Council of State Boards for Nursing, for licensure as a registered nurse (RN). Due to the strenuous nature of the nursing curriculum, BRTC reserves the right to determine eligibility of any student to enroll or continue in the nursing program. Eligibility is determined by the faculty’s evaluation of the student’s ability to perform the tasks and responsibilities of a Registered Nurse and to complete the clinical and course objectives. These abilities are re-evaluated during and after each course.

ASBN requires a criminal background check for all graduates applying for licensure. Graduating from a nursing program does not ensure ASBN’s approval to take the licensure examination. Eligibility to take the licensure examination is dependent on meeting standards in the ASBN Nurse Practice Act and Rules. You will be required to sign a statement, before beginning the nursing program, that states you have read and understand ACA §17-3-102, §17-87-302 and §17-87-312 and the specific offenses which, if pleaded guilty, nolo contendere, or found guilty of will make an individual ineligible to receive or hold a license in Arkansas.
